A really cool film score concert of very important movies with a symphonic music score. The concert is a unique event of great music at a wonderful outdoor venue in Highland Park, IL and will be a fun evening of all great music by this group of fans at this concert.
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra is one of the most famous in the world. They will be playing all of the important film scores in this unique performance. The CSO has created many collection of recordings in recent years of many of the pieces in the classical library. The CSO has won many Grammy Awards. The CSO is a treasure of our culture. This performance will bring the wonderful film scores to life with great, strong, orchestral textures.
Marin Alsop is a recipient of multiple Grammy Awards and is the principal conductor of the Orchestra on Stage at Carnegie Hall. She became the first female to be the principal conductor of an American symphony when she was appointed as the music director of the Los Angles Philharmonic in 2003. Marin also holds the Gustav Mahler Conductors Chair with the Chief Conductor of the Bamberger Symphoniker in Germany and recently led a number of programs showcasing the varied classical libary including classical symphonic works as well as many more contemporary compositions.
The guest artist for the Hunter Pavilion evening of ‘On The Movies’ is Chi-Yuan Chen. Chi-Yuan is a uniquely appealing musician who conveys his following of fans great appeal while he performs. His superior skill in his solo performances will bring great insight and further be highlighted during the ‘On The Movies’ evening. Chi-Yuan will perform with the entire complete Chicago Symphony Orchestra while Marin Alsop is the conductor.
The Hunter Pavilion At Ravinia is a pavilion in Highland Park, Illinois. It is a rather intimate venue for very large symphonic events and other performances. The seating is quite good and the views of the stage, as well as the sound, are both very good. There are several seating areas to choose from including some with shelter from the weather.
