The Gipsy Kings encompasses several modern genres and, for 30 years, have produced authentic ear-catching projects and works. Beloved for their grasp on Catalan rumba and flamenco, they've created an avenue for the eccentric and crowd-favorite infectious anthems brought by their unique artistry. The Gipsy Kings spares no expense in creating raw, powerful music that generates rhythm in the room and creates infectious energy. Highly regarded as one of the most prestigious purveyors of Catalan, the group has received international acclaim and chart-topping success in the industry. A winner of a couple of Grammy Awards in 2013, for the Best World Music category for the album "Savor Flamenco" and selling over 20 million albums, the group has ultimately established themselves as a world-class act.

Tonino Baliardo founded the group and heads its many successes over the course of the band's career. A charming and talented French guitarist hailing from Spanish Gitano descent, he started their music career as a gypsy band traveling around town, hopping from one gig to another. Their first-ever official releases as a band received little recognition. A lot has changed after many iterations and more gigs; the band incorporated sounds from the Middle East, Latin America, and North Africa. In 1987, with their release of their third and eponymous album, they truly became the kings of Catalan music across the country. They did not only create a buzz for their names, but they topped charts across many international platforms. Their work on "Djobi Djoba," "Bamboléo," and the ballad "Un Amor" became a significant staple in their career.

This 2024, the Gipsy Kings are happy to announce the promotion of their latest release, the much-awaited "Renaissance" album. The album is a huge comeback for the band and will constitute the group's ticket to another decade of reign. The group will tour more than 20 cities on some of the biggest stages in the country for their most passionate and gypsy-core album yet. They're ready for you at The Pavilion at Ravinia on July 31st to deliver the finest Catalan music. Tickets are now on sale, and you can get yours here.
