Born the youngest of five brothers, Victor Wooten started learning to play music at the young age of two. And at just age five, he began to perform in nightclubs and theaters as the bassist with the family band and toured with his brothers, opening shows for legendary soul artist Curtis Mayfield a year later. "My brothers, who were already playing music, knew they needed a bass player to complete the family band. Regi started teaching me as soon as I could sit up straight, and my parents let him do it."

Not long after, Victor Wooten was hailed as the 8 year old Bass Ace. Before graduating high school, this musical legend even shared the stage with industry heavyweights, such as Stephanie Mills, War, Ramsey Lewis, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Dexter Wansel, and The Temptations. Ever since, the Tennessee titan has been rocking major venues around the world. Victor Wooden is so talented that he’s even been hailed as "the Michael Jordan of the bass" and "one of the most fearless musicians on the planet." But that’s not all - this bass legend has snagged every major award including Bassist of the Year in Bass Player Magazine's readers poll not once, not twice but three times! And in 2011, Rolling Stone Magazine said Victor Wooten is one of the Top Ten Bassists of ALL TIME. Now a five-time Grammy winner, Victor Wooten hit the global scene in 1990 as the founding member of the super band Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.
